Dispensary Technician

Job Summary

This position supports a transition from a transactional environment to a patient-focused setting. As part of Walgreens’ pharmacy team, the role offers hands-on training through a nationally recognized apprenticeship program, preparing individuals for PTCB certification. Whether you're starting out or have experience, you'll receive the support and tools needed to grow in the pharmacy field.

Responsibilities

• Assist thiss in following federal and state regulations when delivering pharmacy services.
• Assist clients and patients by addressing their questions and providing support for products and services to ensure their satisfaction.
• Manage prescription processing and patient and drug information through the operation of pharmacy systems.
• Assist with inventory control by managing the reception, verification, and safe storage of pharmaceutical deliveries.
• Manage clerical duties by handling phone inquiries, submitting claims, and assisting with scheduling tasks.
• Keep the pharmacy space tidy and structured.
• Help streamline clinical services and enhance patient outreach initiatives within the pharmacy.
• Align with Walgreens' requirements by following the directives of Good Faith Dispensing and conducting yourself according to the Code of Conduct.

Qualifications and Experience

• Skilled in the practice of English reading, writing, and verbal interaction, except in Puerto Rico.
• Flexibility to work varied hours, such as evenings and weekends.
• A six-month history of working in retail environments.
• Employment background at Walgreens.
• High level of math and computer skills are preferred.
• Preferred: Awareness of inventory management and having PTCB certification.
